I have to mention mafumafu, his cover of ROKI is what got me into Japanese music to begin with! I mostly listen to cover artists and vocaloids... a lot of chogakusei, forte, araki, soraru, takaokamizuki, and yasai31!

I came across a late Japanese producer/artist named Nujabes, and his music is so great
I would recommend listening to Battlecry, Luv(sic) no.1, and the space between two world.
No way lol you found it finally. Nujabes being recognized. If you have played the game 'Stray' the cat game then there is one music that is kinda taken from nujabes song [counting stars]
I really like Ado, her voice is amazing, LiSa, and Kenshi Yonezu
All the others are groups (phantom siita, babymetal, etc) or Vocaloid Producers (mothy, Kanaria, CircusP, Deco*27, wotaku, and Neru are my favorites, I also like Syudou and lots of others :D)
Hi everyone!!! Have you guys heard of shinsei kamattechan? They are my favorite band to me and they are so relatable. My favorite song from them is "I don't need things like friends, die."
I highly recommend listening to a band called "Haku." ! They're known mainly for the tongue twister song they've covered, but all of their music is truly great ("それしか言えない" is my fav at the moment). They have so much energy ! It's very enjoyable to listen to, give it a try !
My personal favorite is The Oral Cigarettes. I can't tell how much I love their song and lyrics. Songs always start with a description of real-life struggles and negative feelings, and the last part of songs are always about the hope and overcoming those feelings. It is really beautiful. I am right now listening "One's Again" , old but gold, especially live version is so good and it gives me a strength to keep going <3 <3. I would like to see them live one day!! Of course I love other J-ROCK artists too!!
