Please use this to discuss (in your native language) issues, ideas, and considerations for the community translation of renshuu in to Dutch. For example, it would be great to get a list of common terms in renshuu and how to represent them so that I (Michael) can make that information more easily accessible to the translation system.

Wat is het beste om een 'radical' te noemen? Het eerste wat er bij mij omhoogkomt is 'radicaal', hoewel dat een beetje gek klinkt wat mij betreft, maar ik zou ook niet even kunnen bedenken wat het dan wel moet zijn.

Pardon my English.

I think you could just use radical. It’s a technical term that has no associated meanings for most English speakers, except for those who mistakenly think it means extreme.

If that doesn’t seem right, I’d consider the Latin root. Radix is a loanword that doesn’t seem to have any additional baggage.

For everyone wondering, I just did a quick research, and 'radicaal' seems to be the Dutch term, so it should be fine.

@ポールおじちゃん, thank you for clarifying that radical kind of has the same meaning in English as in Dutch. For me (and probably many other Dutch people) the English just always sounds better, even if a word is almost the same with the same meaning as its Dutch counterpart.

radicaal lijkt mij ook het beste - als het goed is, heb ik het lang geleden ook zo vertaald.
hier wordt de term 'radicalen' ook gebruikt: https://www.katernjapan.nl/jap...
ook gelijk vrijwel de enigste nederlandse bron voor radicalen die ik kon vinden kao_lazy.png
