(As for your JP, you can't really start thoughts with の like that, you need a clear noun before it, のは美しい or のについて doesn't work and is little disorientating. Let me know if you don't understand anything. About the manga - I like that the characters feel and act like real people. I ignored it for a while, since I though I wouldn't like it... I was wrong 😀)
Ah, I see what happened. The の in 白いの functions as a nominaliser, turning the adjective into a noun phrase. it basically stand for "thing" or "one", i.e. "the white one". The の still needs something to attach to. When you say something like "のは美しいと..." it reads as "Is beautiful and..." as opposed to "IT is beautiful and..."
You're saying "something" is beautiful, but without defining what that "something" refers to. Does that make sense? The other thing you can do is nominalise a whole clause with の, i.e. 漫画を読んだのは楽しかった → 漫画を読んだの is now a noun phrase meaning something like "the act of reading the manga".
