掲示板 Forums - Firefox: Audio skips the first ~0,5 second

Hi
I'm on Firefox. Whenever I press the audio button, or now that I've turned on automatic audio, it will skip the first ~0,5 second of the audio recording.
In practice this means that short words get skipped entirely, or you only hear the very end, and in general you miss out on the first word in sentences.
When I stay on the same page and play the same audio again, it correctly plays the entirety of it.
I can't reproduce it on my Android phone.
I have the following Add-ons: uBlock Origin, SponsorBlock, Return Youtube dislike, Reddit Enhancement suite, To google translate.
Thank you in advance.
I have also seen this - it's extremely frustrating. I will continue to work on it, but I don't have any great leads at the moment.
Question: if you play one sound, it doesn't work correctly, then the next one works, how about the next audio file? Does that one load alright?
It's not only the first half second or so, sometimes it's the middle of the word. For example special (スペシャル) was one of new terms yesterday. Firefox (on pc) played suru. Twice. it was only on the third play that it was correct.
And no, the next one skips as well, then the next one, and so on.
I'd say at least 90% of the audio files did this yesterday. I finally switched to my phone (Firefox browser on Android, not the app) and it was much better, but still took forever since that schedule was flooded and nearly 12 times the usual size.
Firefox is so quirky sometimes - I switched to it from Chrome as my main browser, and these oddities are getting thrown in my face.
I tried a number of "fixes" yesterday on my side of things, but nothing has really stuck yet.

Just to clarify, I'll write out the base use case, where step 3.3 is the "failed"/erroneous step:
1. Setting "Play pronunciation after answering a question" is ON
2. I start a studying a vocabulary quiz
2.1 I am brought to a question page
3. I answer correctly,
3.1 I am brought to a result page
3.2 The audio file for the word plays (e.g. a 1 second recording)
3.3 The result is that the first ~0,5 seconds of the recording is not voiced (failed)
4. A couple of seconds later, I press the pink PlaySound icon
4.1 The result is that recording is voiced in its entirety
I have tested the following variations:
A
Prerequisites: Do 1.-4.
Variation: Press "Show the next question" button, repeat 2.-3.
Result: 3.3 is identical to base use case (failed)
B
Prerequisites: Do 1.-4.
Variation: Wait 5 seconds, press PlaySound
Result: Same as base case 4.1
C
Prerequisites: Do 1.-4.
Variation: Wait 30 seconds, press PlaySound
Result: The first ~0,5 seconds of the recording is not voiced (failed)
D
Prerequisites: Do 1.-4.
Variation: Wait 7 seconds, press PlaySound
Result: The first ~0,5 seconds of the recording is not voiced (failed)
E
Prerequisites: Do 1.-4.
Variation: Press "Show the next question" button, repeat 2.-3. within 6 seconds of completing prerequisite 4.1
Result: The result of step 3.3 is that the recording is voiced in its entirety (passed)!
F
Prerequisites: Do 1.-3.
Variation: Wait 7 seconds, press PlaySound
Result: The first ~0,5 seconds of the recording is not voiced (failed)
My conclusion is that if it is <7 seconds since an audio has played, the audio will play in its entirety. If it is >=7 seconds, it will not voice the first bit. This seems to be regardless of which page you are on or have been on.
Okay, so I just had a series of ~5 questions where the issue was not present, even if I waited >seconds between them, so it seems to be somewhat irregular. One of the vocab questions was "集まり", although seeing as it "worked" for ~5 questions, and then stopped working again for the subsequent questions, this leads me to believe it's not the content. But I can't be sure - I also experienced later in the quiz that 1 question would work, but afterwards it was back to not working.
Firefox! *screams* - thanks so much for all of the info. I still feel completely in the dark about this - but will continue to work on it.
