It would be extremely helpful if the sentences were associated for a given word were tied to a particular definition of the word rather than only the word itself.
The reasons below come from how I try to use the dictionary currently:
1. Determining if a specific definitions usage is transitive/intransitive
Verbs that are indicated as being both transitive and intransitive sometimes for a given definition seem to be only used in one way or the other.
2. Finding an uncommon meanings usage
Some words have literally 10+ definitions and sentences associated with them that exceed 100, and I am trying to figure out how to use the word as part of definition. 上がる is a good example. I want to find a sentence where it is used as "to be spoken loudly". I would need to wade through over 200 sentences to find this specific meaning, assuming it even exists.
3. Idioms and other usages that are not part of the definition
The final category of sentences that would be good to have with the word is where the word itself is used in a manner that has nothing to do with the definition. Perhaps if the idiom has a definition itself, then it could be associated somehow. I find this particularly useful as I will be reading a manga and having to type out everything out is tedious especially if it involves kanji that I have not learned yet.
