Hi all. I figured out that learning Japanese is no easy task, but what really works for me is the renshuu dictionary. I thought it would be a fun topic to let people add a word with an example of why they looked up the word to let other people also learn that word kao_punch.png

I was looking online for nice furoshiki. And one of the wrapping cloths had this very cute pattern of a hedgehog. It was called harinezumi: ハリネズミ

What word did you look up?Maybe you saw something in a sushi restaurant or in a videogame like Yakuza?

Renshuu's dictionary is awesome. kao_sparkles.png A couple months ago I went to a ramen restaurant with my family. My brother was looking at the toppings for one of the menu items and asked me what kikurage (キクラゲ) was. I didn't know at the time, so I looked it up. Turns out it's a kind of mushroom I'd seen in ramen before, but hadn't known what it was until then. So I ended up learning two new things that day!
