Hi, guys, quick question

I always used "る (おこる) " when i want to say "to get angry" but I just found out that it can be pronounced "いかる" too.

What's the difference between the two?

There is an explanation in the usage note under いかる in the dictionary.

In modern Japanese いかる is used as the base for the noun form いかり (rage), otherwise you'll almost never hear いかる instead of おこる.

I don't think I've ever come across いかる in the wild. Some conjugations of イカれる sound similar, but the two aren't related.

If you ever hear いかれてる, chances are it's イカれてる not れてる. I have seen れてる in songs (probably as a stylistic play on words). Obviously not including historical literature and classical writing.
