こんばんはさん!

I started reading this book recently. Does anybody know it? I read it was for N4 level. My dilemma is, if I am studying for Jlpt N3, why do I still have difficulty with the meaning of some words in the stories? They should be for beginners :(

How much should I read everyday? A short article? 20 pages of something? What do you do to improve reading and vocabulary? What do you think?

For this one, I think "aimed at N4" assumes you’ll be relying on the English translation, a dictionary, and furigana. To read it "comfortably" it's probably around upper N3.

How hard is it for you to read? If it's not too much of a struggle, the book looks pretty good. Twenty pages seems like a lot though, maybe try 2-4 instead?

I read a few pages of and you're definitely not meant to know words like 竜宮城, 玉手箱 or 珊瑚礁

When I begin to find words that I don't know and they pile up, well, that is when reading becomes a struggle. Otherwise, even if I find a word and don't remember the readings but I know the meaning, then it's not a problem

If you only care about studying for N3, this book isn't a good choice. The vocab isn’t graded for N3 and some kanji and expression are outside the scope of JLPT as a whole. Still a good book though.
