Can renshuu work without wi-fi? What happens when I'm stuck in a car for hours and wanna work on my Japanese?
I'm afraid then you'll have to rely on other apps or study materials. With the sheer amount of data Renshuu uses, offline mode isn't really doable, at least for now. For more information, go to Community > Forums > Search > and look for "offline" ticking the box for thread names. One of the results is even sticky-ed: https://app.renshuu.org/forums...
Iirc I think the crosswords by renshuu app is offline. For studying kanji, you can just download or print out kanji writing sheets. For vocab, make double sided flashcards with one side having a word written on it and the other having the definition written down. You can also make kanji flashcards in a similar fashion (Kanji on the front, definition, readings, radical, etc. on the back). For grammar... I think maybe buying a workbook could be good.
Renshuu is a low bandwidth application, at least in modern terms. You don’t need Wi-Fi: a spotty cellular network is fine.
You can reduce the bandwidth even further by disabling images, not using any of the downloadable fonts, and not studying listening questions.
And not reading the forums, of course.
EDIT: I can’t seem to find the option that disables images. Maybe I imagined it.

You mean this one?
Renshuu is 100% online for now. So any way you get online, you can use it. You may have to use other resources or go low tech if you're offline.
No I don't think it works without wifi I tired opening it once it just was stuck on the loading screen
If you're with other people maybe you can ask to use their hotspot and if you're on your own then you should be driving lol
if you have a lot of data you could use that and if you don't have a lot there are probably ways to reduce data usage
