Hi! I've found this question here and there on Google, but haven't found a suitable solution yet.
I am currently learning kanji with the Minna no nihongo books and also with the book Kanji Look and Learn. There are ready-made quizzes for both on renshuu, which is great. The kanji meaning quizzes works well, but I am always asked about onyomi and kunyomi that I haven't learned yet. This causes me to make many mistakes and I don't learn anything because I don't yet associate any words with these readings. However, I don't want to disable the function because I would like to repeat the readings I already know.
How can I proceed here? Has anyone had the same problem and found a good solution?
In your user settings in the Kanji section, you can set it so Renshuu only quizzes you on readings you have seen in words before ("No extra readings"). This setting will only affect the readings on kanji you haven't quizzed the readings on yet, though, so you may have to toggle some manually.
To manually toggle individuals readings to appear in your kanji quizzes, just click on them in the dictionary or in the kanji info card during a quiz, and check the checkbox on or off. Readings that are manually toggled off will not re-enable automatically when you learn them in vocabulary later, but you can manually re-enable them at any time.
