My suggestion? Memonics. Use memonics from YouTube like japanese 101 for katakana(while some people don't recommend this) and practice using them by either: writing them, reading them. For kanji don't worry about theyre readings as there are a lot.just practice reading them with vocab as you learn.and memonics also can help here. Use the kanji schedule if you like but usually I learn the vocab with the kanji. So don't worry abount the 3000 kanji that you gotta memorize. Just focus on your level and when your sure,move on.
