I'm studying japanese *well at first* just to communicate to my aunt but now I have goals to move to Japan
We will have vacation in japan, so I want to at least understand something.
The wish to watch anime without writings is my motivation .
I love travelling to Japan more than anything else in the world (aside from chiikawas and sushi) and my motivation is to survive in Japan by being able to understand it with minimum use of Google translate (and not get lost like most tourists by not reading the little sign there)
I've always loved learning new languages and knowing more about foreign cultures, traditions. I remember when I was around 12/13 y.o. , I listened to japanese videos and read quotes with the English translation and I fell in love with the language, with how it sounds, the words, the characters... I studied it for a little then I dropped it, then I studied it again because I didn't have the tools but now I'm trying to achieve my dream and become fluent. I also love the music, doramas, so I would love to watch them in the original language and know more about the culture! :) Oh - and one day, of course, I will travel to Japan ☆
A lot of reasons tbh:-
1)to watch anime without facing the bad dubbing or reading subtitles.
2)I just turned 15 today so everybody says that teens learn skills quickly 🙄.
3) I really want to visit Japan one day 😊.
I’ve been living in Japan for 10 years. I started learning Japanese right after I moved here. Back then, my reason for studying was to make my daily life run more smoothly. When I was a kid, I used to watch anime and play Japanese video games, and I’d think, “It would be great if I could understand Japanese and play these games and watch these anime,” but at the time, I never seriously considered studying the language. Now, I’m studying Japanese to make that childhood dream come true.
