I'm a big fan of nanakoshiyaki, and it's pretty common in my preference but I realized that I haven't seen it mentioned on the internet at all, and it isn't in the dictionary here (according to my mum lol) and so I'm a little curious about where it comes from (what prefecture it's native to) and why it isn't more popular. It's a snack a bit like a taiyaki but round like a hockey puck
reason not in dictionary is probably because specialized regional food item or by a particular company. just like u wont find the name of a specific brand of computer part in a dictionary, either. they are tasty! guessing u from toyama
Indeed, it seems to be a specialty of a shop in Toya Marche, in the Toyama Shinkansen station: nanakosi.com.
According to Visit Toyama, “You may have seen this snack elsewhere, as it goes by various names depending on the region, like Obanyaki or Imagawayaki. In Toyama Prefecture, it is known as Nanakoshiyaki.”
