久 しぶり。 I think it should be "verb: conditional" rather than Verb: Potential because of the ば形 .

I think if のに is added, it means "however".

I was writen,
Changes to 'would have been better if A wasn't done' if A is in a negative potential form (なくてよかった)
should it rather be
A is in a NEGATIVE "CONDITIONAL" FORM (instead of potential form)
行 かなければ よかった. (I wish I hadn't gone.) Negative CONDITIONAL form よかった
行 けばよかった。(I should have gone)
